Photo Blogging Challenge (October 2013): Fall

October 30, 2013

Ahhh, another month, another photo challenge.

I hope we have a lot of people this month and I’ll be excited to see how people interpreted the theme this month as there are so many ways to do it!

Anyway, the theme for the month was “fall,” and I tend to take a more traditional approach, rather than a literal one. Therefore, you’ll be seeing a lot of color in mine and some fall shots.

Still, I needed to put something else in there, eh?

You could have gotten literal, like somebody taking a fall or something like that. And maybe, just maybe, I did something like that? Who knows until you scroll on.

At the end of my post is the linkup. If you participated, share your link and visit the others to see what they had to offer this month!

And now, without further ado, here’s my five photos for the month.

1. Fall color

I took this during the Worldwide Photo Walk. I love this part of fall. Leaves on the ground, or off the trees, and in full color. Loved the water here, too.

Color.

 2. Falling over

During a trip to South New Jersey, I visited a wetlands institute. This was there and looked like it was going to be falling at some point.

Falling down?

 3. Pretty colors

Though the weather in the Northeast, at times, can be really tough, the fall can be so wonderful with the different colors. Even better is when the colors are different on the same tree!

Many colors.

4. Changing seasons

The leaves change colors before falling to the ground, signifying winter will soon be with us. These are things that make bearable, though.

Changing seasons.

5. Fall coming!

In professional wrestling, a match ending can be referred to as a fall. Also, wrestlers take falls (bumps). So there’s a lot of falling in the sport. So, it would be hard to do this post without showing somebody falling!

Falling!

And that’s my five for the month of October.

If you took part this month, make sure you link up below. And for those who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment and visit so we can continue to grow this challenge.

Don’t forget, too, to come back Friday (Nov. 1) and see the theme for November!

NOTE: I also set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

I have no idea what’s going on in that last picture but it sure is funny. Otherwise that’s a great group of falls cape photos. I really like your first one of the leaf.

I did have some ‘falling over’ photos but I didn’t take them recently, so couldn’t use them.

I love the autumn colours of those leaves.

Also, the second one of the falling down bridge is brilliant!

Wow, I really love your Fall colors. That single red leaf is gorgeous. Like Babs, ours are just starting to change, although the Poplar has lost probably two-thirds of its leaves. It will be bare before long.

Falling Over was a great deviation from the usual Fall fare.

What a great series of pictures! I love the red and gold leaves against the blue skies – we seldom get that depth of colour here, and we’ve been to New England twice in the fall and missed it, too!

My favourite though, is the falling bridge or jetty. There is just something about ancient wood which is so appealing, and whatever it used to be, it’s a very picturesque structure now. Looks to be home for a number of birds, doesn’t it?

I am somewhat envious of all the intense autumn colour you’ve been able to share. We mostly see only shades of yellow and gold here.

Self care is important. With work as stressful as Self care is important. With work as stressful as it usually is during this month, the little things can help you relax. I went this morning for a beard trim. It’s only 30-40 minutes, but it’s nice to have it done. A nice shaping, thinning it out a bit, a hot towel and a straight razor.

Nice.

In the world in which we live, little things like this can really be good for you. Maybe it’s a massage. Maybe it’s a therapy session. Maybe it’s a trip to the barber shop. But take care of yourself. It’s important.

I hate being in front of the camera, but also realize sometimes it's not the worst thing in the world. So, I'm getting better with it. Week 4's theme was all about us and having us in front of the camera, so I tried to come up with a creative way to do it.
