It seems that Waco has done a pretty good job of staying ahead of it and our health department is one of the few in the area doing contact tracing. I wish we had more paths here, seeing your fishing trail photo. We have a great park but it’s too crowded for me on the weekends. I’ve gone out for weekday lunch walks but getting bored with where an hour can get me. I have learned to really enjoy just being home and enjoying what I have close at hand.

I always wonder who’s watching when I follow the chalk commands do jumps, spin and hop!! The photos from your twice (sometimes thrice) daily walks spark thoughts of gratitude that in Alberta, we are encouraged to get outside for some daily exercise (while maintaining physical distancing). Contrast that to places like Spain, where people had to stay in their homes for 7 weeks (except for buying grocery and other necessities). And that makes me wonder if such appreciation for small freedoms is a slippery slope to a totalitarian society…

One last comment before my thoughts get too deep and depressing! Your painting reminds me of Bill Brownridge’s illustrations in his series of children’s hockey books. If you’re not familiar with his work, check https://heartofhockey.com/books/ Very cool that the art classes have moved online and very fortunate that you had the needed supplies on hand.

Taking walks at the park and on trials is something I have missed, they shut all ours down. The painted rock and the flower/lake are my favorite photos.

I’m glad to see your inner artist emerging through all this. I have that same paper plate design! Love your nature shot; isn’t PhotoShop fun? I’ve not done Lightroom yet. And isn’t it great that a painted rock has the ability to make a person smile?! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your world this month.

Our local wilderness park where I do my main hiking has been closed for 6 weeks and even our 2.5 mile biking/walking trail was closed down due to people not practicing social distancing.

Eventually, these restrictions will ease up and we will go back to a semblance of normal, although I suspect that our new normal will never be actually the same as it once was. That is probably both a good and a bad thing.

And for what it’s worth, this is the third time I’ve tried to post this.

My son is bummed the playoffs, as well as the World Championship that was supposed to be held in Switzerland, are canceled. Congratulations on doing the online art thing!

Love the chalk messages, and the recipients deserve our gratefulness!

As many downsides this pandemic crisis has, I love how most people make the best out of their individual situation and learn new things, reconnect with new people or old friends and ultimately with themselves, know what I mean?

Is that rock part of this “paint and hide a rock for others to find” game?

It goes without saying everyone’s world has been turned upside-down with COVID-19. Perhaps we all were in need of a hard reset for life. It certainly has provided opportunities to look inward at ourselves as well as focusing on priorities closer to home. But, my heart really goes out to those who have lost jobs and lost loved ones during this crisis. […]

We sure miss hockey around here, especially now, when it would have been NHL playoff season. How great that you’ve been able to keep up your usual walks! That second photo looks fabulous, with the blurred background. It’s nice to see those messages of gratitude, and the rock does add a lovely bit of colour. Here’s hoping May will be better for all of us. Thanks for hosting this fun blogfest!
