Photo Blogging Challenge (March 2014): One

March 31, 2014

One year of doing this photo challenge … who knew?

I was hoping to really come up with a set of photos to showcase the theme. I had grand ideas and ended up struggling to find photos I took this month. It’s been a long month. If you haven’t seen it or don’t know the story — I encourage you to read the post I put up last week.

So with that in mind, this month has been tough for blogging and other things for me. Mix in a busy month at work and I was behind. I did get five photos — and I’m stretching it a little here, but that’s the beauty of the challenge.

Without further adieu … here are my five for the month!

1. One foot surgery

Finally, I got the foot surgery. And I had to be in this walking boot for about two weeks.

Fun to walk around in this.

2. One time

I’ve been taking photos of each 1,000 miles with my new car. This milestone won’t be reached again!

6,000 and counting.

3. One piece makes more

At the local St. Patrick’s Day parade, this piece of candy became several.

Smashed.

4. One last time

This was the last time I had to get an IV in the hospital/clinic from the foot surgery. I have to give myself some good stuff, but I haven’t had to go there for anything recently.

No fun.

5. One chief

Our village fire chief fishing during the St. Patty’s Day Parade.

Fishing.

And that’s my five for the month.

If you took part this month, make sure you link up below. And for those who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment and visit so we can continue to grow this challenge.

Don’t forget, too, to come back Tuesday, April 1 and see the theme for April!

NOTE: I also set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

Glad your foot surgery went OK. The fire chief looks like he’s enjoying himself. I suppose it’s better than fire fighting.

    What an creative selection!

Sorry about the foot surgery – I hope it’s healing well. I can’t help wondering what the fire chief has hooked – was it another vehicle dressed up as a fish?

Wow! Six thousand miles on your car already – hopefully a good portion because of geocaching and/or photography.

Glad to read your foot is finally healing up properly, just in time for spring’s arrival and even more geocaching goodness.

A nice interpretation of this month’s theme. I think my favorite of these five is the one of your foot, because it shows you’re on the mend. That’s always a good thing.

SURGERY DONE WOO HOO!!! I love this set of pictures.

The car is fascinating… it is telling you SNOW! And the candy? What a waste wahhhhh! I love how you captured it. The fire engine picture almost looks like it is from the 60’s… it has such a great feel to it!

Self care is important. With work as stressful as Self care is important. With work as stressful as it usually is during this month, the little things can help you relax. I went this morning for a beard trim. It’s only 30-40 minutes, but it’s nice to have it done. A nice shaping, thinning it out a bit, a hot towel and a straight razor.

Nice.

In the world in which we live, little things like this can really be good for you. Maybe it’s a massage. Maybe it’s a therapy session. Maybe it’s a trip to the barber shop. But take care of yourself. It’s important.

And if you are in my area and need a trim or whatever — check out Chris (@studio11chris ) at @studio11barbersuite in Oneonta. Well worth it!

A video looking at my first year and a half of owning a golden retriever, my first dog. It's had its ups and downs, but I've truly loved the ride and look forward to the future.

I hate being in front of the camera, but also realize sometimes it's not the worst thing in the world. So, I'm getting better with it. Week 4's theme was all about us and having us in front of the camera, so I tried to come up with a creative way to do it.
