January went by fast.
I had a lot on the plate, with work, and some other things going on — and then add in that 20 Days of Chill!
Needless to say, me and my DSLR did not have a good month.
So, everything here is done with my phone. I’m glad I took enough photos to cover the challenge, that’s for sure. It would have been pretty silly for me to have a post with just a linkup. Well, maybe I could have pretended to have five invisible photos …
OK, maybe not.
Anyway, the crazy winter continues. I know people in this challenge are spread out, so I’ll be interested to see how others interpreted the theme and such. I had some cool ideas … and totally dropped the ball.
Ahh well, what can you do, right?
Anyway, without further adieu, here are my five for the month!
1. Inside my head
Earlier this month, the country was all crazed by the $1.5 billion Powerball. Of course I played. I’m a dreamer! I got a few scratchoffs, too. And inside my head were the thoughts of what I could do if I won. I didn’t win.
No big winner.
2. Inside the geocache
If you are a geocacher, sometimes it’s cool to open that cache as you never know what will be inside!
Not a lot was inside this one!
3. Inside the package
I ordered a trial package from Harry’s to try out their razors. We’ll see what happens when I use them!
Shave time!
4. Inside box No. 8
In Pandemic Legacy, the only way you were supposed to open box No. 8 was if you lost four straight games. We never lost that many, so we didn’t have to use the contents of the box.
Box. No. 8.
5. Inside where it’s warm
We may not have a lot of snow, but it’s been cold at times. And though Cameron is an outdoors kid, sometimes it’s nicer inside, as it was when I saw him earlier this month.

I like all your shots for this theme. I’m particularly curious about your box no.8, what is actually inside?
Am I right in assuming its for when you lose at 8 ball pool?
Thanks, Clare. The box was part of the game and it only gave some added components, if they had been needed. Thankfully, we didn’t need them! Not anything to do with pool! 😀
I hope you and your DSLR have made up and are playing nice now! I had grand intentions this month as well….but it didn’t happen. I think I could really get into a trial package from Harry and David (chocolate covered cherries?!). Great selection. Cameron is always a wonderful addition to any prompt. 🙂
I need to just get out with it a little more and hopefully I will do that in February. I like using the iPhone and such… but I really love my camera. I had so many better intentions for January. Argh!
A trial package for chocolate covered cherries would be great, but this trial was just a shaving set from that Harry’s!
Cameron is ADORABLE. That is an excellent shot and is so sweet. I am interested in how you like the razor…. I’ve seen so many ads for that.
My favorite shot is of the geocache. We were hiking today and I didn’t even THINK to look for one. Darn!

I didn’t have many shots of Cameron this month, so I’m glad I uncovered that one. And I’ll definitely have a review on the razor once I use it.
As for the geocache … I want to do it a bit more this year. I miss certain aspects of the game, so hopefully I can drag myself to do it more often!
I feel like I also dropped the ball on the challenge this month by using pictures taken during the summer, and also dropping the ball on the 20 days of chill challenge. I guess that is why they are called challenges, and not breezes. 🙂

I love the “inside my head” idea of the lottery photo.
Of course I bought lottery tickets too & dreamed of taking care of family if I won but I didn’t think of how that works with this theme!
Thanks, Danielle. I actually almost cut the lotto photo, but it seemed like a good way to think outside the box with the theme.
I figure a lot of people spent time imagining what they might do if they won the Powerball. I can’t even conceive of that much money! On a completely different topic, it seems harder and harder to find a geocache with room for something more than just the logsheet. That’s okay, though, since I don’t do much trading these days. What a great candid shot of Cameron – he looks absolutely “full” of holiday goodness.

Honestly, I couldn’t imagine winning that much. It was so much money At least more than one person won it.
And agreed on the geocaching sizes. It’s discouraging when you have an area with so many good spots and people place micros with no thought. But, I think it’s part of the game now with how they expanded. There’s a lot of good in having apps and such, but there’s negative sides, too.

I’ve got to get out and do some caching as well as some cache maintenance. I just can’t get motivated.

I am hoping, come spring, to take a day and just go out and do cache maintenance. Maybe use that time to place a bunch, too, as I drive around. I figure if I can do that and land a few finds at the same time, it will be a good thing. Plus, I can fix up anything with my caches.
As for the challenge — I got lucky this month as it was a total scramble.
